Cuvée Florence is a Bordeaux blend named after Christy's mother Florence Grosskettler. The significance of this wine is that it is being released to thank Florence for letting me marry her daughter 30 years ago! For most wine makers, 2011 was a challenging year. With cool days and rains at harvest, less fruit was produced with lower sugar levels. However, after 22 months in French oak, our 2011 wines emerged with elegance and grace and alcohol levels in the 13% range.
